Hi,
Vermilion City is another great city with a number of things to do immediately after you arrive. You can obtain the Old Rod, receive the Bike Voucher, and catch a number of Pokemon. To much dismase, however, the Gym is blocked by a cuttable tree and you still don't have the move Cut. Since there is much left to do after these few things, you have no choice but heal your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center and head down to the Vermilion Harbor towards the SS Anne.
