Ember said good bye to his parents and his little brother and sister, and even though Ember didn't seem sad that he was leaving, his parents knew that inside he was crying. Ember hugged and kissed his mom,dad,sister and brother and said 'Good bye I'll miss you and thank you for treating me like your own son' His parents replied 'You are welcome but to us you are our son' Hanako and Tardo said 'Thank you for being like a big brother to us!' Ember didn't want to show that he was sad so he didn't stay much longer. When he left he was walking towards Professor Oaks lab.
When he entered the lab he couldn't believe how big it is and he thought (So this is the lab of the famous Prof.Oak? sure is big) he saw Professor Oaks assistant waiting in the hall and he said 'Hi I'm a new trainer and I'm here for my starter pokemon' Oak's assistant replied 'Oh yes you must be Ember. Prof. Oak is waiting for you in the back garden. Just go to your left and go pass the door and you will meet him' Ember said 'Ok thank you' Ember went towards where the assistant said and he entered the garden. He looked around and saw hundreds of pokemon all around and he thought. (There sure is a lot of pokemon here, and they all look really happy.......) after a few minutes of looking around he saw the professor and he had three pokemon behind him.
Oak looked behind him and saw Ember coming towards him. Ember told the professor that he is here for his first pokemon. He saw three pokemon there. Bulbasaur,Squirtle and a Chamander. He had to pick carefully because the pokemon he chooses is gonna be his partner for life. He looked at them all and thought (Hmmmm.... This bulbasaur and squirtle seem nice but i already know the one i want) Ember went towards the Charmander and said 'Hi. Would you like to be my partner?' The charmander seemed like he knew what Ember was saying and jumped in excitement and went on Ember's shoulder,holding tightly to try not to fall off. Ember said to the Professor. 'I'd like to have this charmander' After that the other pokemon seemed disappointed because they really waned to be traveling with a trainer. When Ember left he didn't really want to put his charmander in a pokeball because he wanted them to grow they're relationship. The charmander was filled with excitement that he was with a trainer. Ember put the charmander down and said 'I'm gonna call you Flame. I hope you like the name' The charmander smiled and nodded to say yes. Ember was surprised because it seemed like Flame knew what he was saying and he thought. (Did he just say yes? But i didn't think pokemon knew human language. Or is Flame different then most pokemon?) Ember shook his head and thought on why he started this journey (The only reason I'm on this journey is to meet my real parents but...... I really like this charmander....) Ember and Flame started there first journey together like partners.
